We encourage parents to drop in and observe the program any time. If you’d like a consultation with a teacher, please let us know in advance so that the teacher can give you their undivided attention. We can also arrange to consult over the phone, please check with the teacher for mutually convenient times. Parents can also expect ongoing communication with teachers concerning your child’s progress, programs, activities and schedule. We welcome feedback from parents on any aspect of the program and encourage you to actively participate. There is a parent committee that is comprised of three parents of children enrolled in the centre, one staff representative and the owner/Director. This committee meets twice annually.
The daily fee is $37.00 per day for toddlers and preschoolers enrolled at Building Dreams Child Care Centre.
Post-dated cheques will be collected upon enrollment. Fees will be collected in advance, on a biweekly schedule. You may, if you wish, pay on a monthly basis in advance as well. Fees will be reviewed periodically and may be raised, with prior notice given, to remain on par with other child care facilities and to allow for competitive wages and staff compensation.
We are pleased to provide a well balanced lunch and two healthy snacks each day, we will respond to children’s hunger cues as well and if necessary provide a small snack outside of regular snack and meal times. We will allow children to respond to their fullness cues as well and not require them to finish everything on their plate and will model healthy eating practices. (Nutritional Standards 7.0-9.1) Our menus are approved by the NS Dept. of Public Health and are posted on the Parents’ Notice Board.
Please let us know should your child require special attention due to allergies or for religious reasons, we will do our best to accommodate your child. Parents are encouraged to have a nutritious breakfast at home so children are ready to participate upon arrival at the centre. As we serve snack early in the morning food brought in from home is recommended to be kept to a minimum and encourage it to be nutritious. Any substitutions to the menu will be posted on the parents’ notice board.
